The BDCL AGM 2020

The following was last night sent to club email contacts:

The BDCL AGM will be held on Sunday 31 January 2021, commencing @ 2:00pm.  The meeting will be held virtually via the Zoom platform, and will be limited to one connection per club.  Should any member club not be familiar with the Zoom platform, documentation is been created to assist with installation and use and will be made available via the League Website.

In order to participate in voting, clubs will need to connect via the Windows, Android or iOS platforms.  Instructions will be given to ensure that clubs are identifiable on screen by name; any club not represented will be in breach of League Rule 1.7.8 and therefore be fined £75.

A test meeting will be held on Sunday 24 January @ 2:00pm to enable clubs to check their installation and connectivity.

Details of both meetings will be forward to Club email contacts prior to the events.

The documentation is now available via the League Website at https://www.bdcl.org.uk/agm-documents/ and currently takes the form of 4 documents:

Please fully read the guidance found in the Agenda & Documents script.

As per the recent BDCL Rules and Playing Regulations Survey, the LMC encourage all clubs to poll their club and playing membership on the required votes to ensure that the response is of their entire membership.  The LMC have responded to the results of this survey in order to create these documents.

Member Club Secretaries and the BDUA Secretary are entitled to submit new rule proposals and amendments to any rule proposed by the LMC.  All such submissions must be received in writing by the League Secretary (secretary@bdcl.org.uk) by 23:45 hrs on Friday 8 January 2021.  All such submissions will then be appropriately ordered and added to the documentation as presented in readiness for the AGM, and the League Website updated accordingly. League clubs will be advised appropriately when the updated documentation is available to view.

As participation at the AGM will be limited, should Member Clubs or the BDUA Secretary have any questions, please submit them to the League Secretary (secretary@bdcl.org.uk) so an FAQ can be compiled and made available on the League Website in advance of the meeting.

Whilst writing, I would like to thank all our clubs for their participation during the truncated 2020 season and for ensuring that Covid-19 procedures and protocols were implemented and adhered to; the efforts made by all to achieve this were much appreciated by the LMC and our colleagues at Nottinghamshire CCC. On behalf of the LMC may I also take the opportunity to wish everyone a Merry and Safe Xmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year; when we sincerely hope that we will be able to play a full season of league fixtures.

Statement from the NPL – NPL2

The NPL is committed to carrying out the mandate given to it by the member clubs of the two feeder Leagues and it’s own member clubs to facilitate the 2nd Division in 2022. The qualifying period for that section will be the 2021 season.

The Champions of both the BDCL and SNCL will, as usual, be invited, as long as they meet the long established ECB criteria, to be promoted into the NPL in 2022. The next four clubs in each League, i.e. teams who finish 2nd to 5th, will be invited to participate in NPL2. Those 8 clubs will be joined by the two relegated clubs from the NPL of 2021.

Any club who decide to accept that invitation will have a 24 month variance to ensure NPL1 compliance if they wish to be promoted into the top section.

Should any club require further clarification should contact Chris Revill, Secretary of the NPL, via email at chris.revill@nottsccc.co.uk.
