At the LMC meeting on Tuesday 12 January, it was agreed to permit 3 clubs who had missed the published deadline into the John J. Mallen t20 Cup Competition for the 2021 season. However, none of the existing arrangements would be changed and the three clubs would form a separate Division – these clubs will be required to travel as necessary.

The updated schedule is:

All BDCL fixtures for this competition start at 13:00. Details regarding the BDCL/SNCL Play-Off, the NPL Finals Day and the ECB t20 Vitality Cup will be forward when announced.

The BDCL AGM 2020 – Updated

The updated documentation for the 2020 AGM, now including all club and BDUA amendments, is now available to download and read/print from the League Web Site and can be found under Downloads | AGM Documents from the top menu.

The documentation takes the form of 4 documents:

Agenda & DocumentsBDCL AGM 2020 – Agenda & Documents.pdf
Document 02 – League Rules & Regulations BDCL AGM 2020 – Document 02 – League Rules & Regulations.pdf
Document 01 – League Rules & RegulationsBDCL AGM 2020 – Document 01 – League Rules & Regulations.pdf
Document 03 – John J. Mallen t20 Cup Rules & Regulations BDCL AGM 2020 – Document 03 – John J. Mallen Trophy Rules & Regulations.pdf

Please fully read the guidance found in the Agenda & Documents file.

As per the recent BDCL Rules and Playing Regulations Survey, the LMC encourage all clubs to poll their club and playing membership on the required votes to ensure that the response is of their entire membership.  The LMC have responded to the results of this survey in order to create these documents.

As participation at the AGM will be limited, should Member Clubs or the BDUA Secretary have any questions, please submit them to the League Secretary (secretary@bdcl.org.uk) so an FAQ can be compiled and made available on the League Website in advance of the meeting.

Category 3 and 3E Player Registrations

Due to the finalisation of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU, which will lead to a change to the employment status of EU residents and possibly to EU passport holders, the League will not be looking into any possible registration of “overseas” players until after March 1st 2021, and certainly not until we have received clarifications from the Home Office and the ECB over the position of players not normally resident within the UK, and without the necessary visas to be allowed to participate in any sport, at any level.

Once such clarification has been received then we shall consider applications from member clubs, and players.  We hope everyone will understand why the LMC will have to delay making decisions at this time, in case they are not valid going into the 2021 season.

In addition and in light of ongoing developments and restrictions surrounding the Covid pandemic, the LMC are not in a position to provide any advice as to whether any player would be able to undertake any contract with any BDCL club, when the season is due to start on 17 April 2021.  It will be solely up to each BDCL club to review the ongoing developments and information provided by the UK Government and the ECB and make a decision based on that information, closer to the season start.  The LMC will make available any such information that it receives as quickly as it is able via all its communication channels.

All other player registrations will be reviewed and accepted as normal.

Please note that the LMC has amalgamated certain email addresses to simplify.  For all questions and issues surrounding Player Registration, Fixtures, Results and Scorecards, please send to match.admin@bdcl.org.uk.
