As we cautiously move, in-line with Government advice, towards a return to competitive cricket I am able advise you that following a meeting of ECB Cricket Committee last week, unfortunately the 2020 Vitality Club T20 competition has been cancelled.
The reason, along with the cancellation of a number of other National Club and County age group competitions, is to ensure a safe and early return to cricket for many players, and to prioritise local playing opportunities over National and Regional competitions. We were keen that relevant leagues and teams were informed of this decision ahead of a wider release to the recreational game tomorrow, Tuesday 16 June.
Further details regarding 2021 competitions will be available later in the year.
In the meantime, we are really sorry to be the bearer of such news and hope that you and your club recover swiftly and well from this difficult disruption.
