This Sunday sees the Semi-Finals of the 2020 John J. Mallen t20 Cup Competition:
Bawtry v Cuckney
Thoresby Colliery v Anston
Sunday 13 September is available as a reserve date, and should it be deemed that either no play would be possible due to the weather, or should play have begun, weather intervenes and one team has not had the opportunity to bat for a minimum of 5 overs, as no participating club has indicated that they would not be able to fulfill the fixture on this date, the fixture will be played to a conclusion on the reserve date.
Should it be necessary to play a game on the reserve date, both teams need to arrive at the game expecting to play irrespective of the weather, unless advised not to by the League Secretary. The standing officials will determine whether play can take place, or whether the result will be decided by a bowl out or the toss of a coin.
The final will be held on Sunday 20 September and will be:
Bawtry/Cuckney v Thoresby Colliery/Anston
Sunday 27 September is available as a reserve date for the final. As this date is also the reserve date for the Divisional Play-Off’s, the LMC has decided that the Divisional Play-Off take precedence. Therefore, to not allow the possibility of two matches been scheduled to be played on this date, should any of the finalists be involved in a Divisional Play Off then the reserve date for the John J. Mallen Trophy Final will not be available and the match will be played to a conclusion on Sunday 20 September.
From feedback received from Clubs and Officials during this shortened season, the LMC have updated the Rules to take account of the mandatory Covid-19 sanitation breaks, included a 30 minute window before the number of overs in the match are reduced due to inclement weather in order to reduce the risk of reducing the number of overs in the match and replaced Average Run Rate with Duckworth Lewis in calculating the revised total in reduced over matches. The updated rules have been highlighted for ease of use. No other rules have been amended. These can be found below. The participating clubs have already received these via email.
At least one member of the LMC will be present at all the above games to act as the Duckworth Lewis Match Manager.
