Great Melton Cricket Club Tour 2022

Great Melton Cricket Club from Norfolk are in the process of organising a cricket tour to Nottingham on the following dates:

Sunday 10th July

Monday 11th July 

Tuesday 12th July

They are looking for fixtures for both the Sunday and Monday. They will be of a mixed strength side consisting of 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th teamers.

If nothing else then you can expect an amusing bunch of happy lads that will certainly increase the bar profits for the season.

Rodney Cook – Killamarsh Juniors

Killamarsh Juniors Cricket Club are saddened by the passing of club stalwart Rodney Cook. Rodney held various roles at the club for many years. He was a true competitor and contributed to the club massively throughout his life.

11 months ago he was diagnosed with terminal Oesophageal cancer. He fought right until the very end but sadly on Saturday 6th November, he lost his brave battle.

His funeral will be held at Brimington Crematorium on Wednesday 24th November at 10:30 followed by a celebration of his life at Killamarsh Juniors Club. For those who would like to attend, please contact kjcc@bdcl.org.uk. For those who can’t attend, there is a video link available; please get in touch for details.

There will be a collection for Ashgate Hospice on the day for anyone that would like to make a donation. Please be aware, masks must be worn in the crematorium.

Nottinghamshire’s Big Vax-the-nation Weekend

Walk-in Covid-19 jabs for all adults will be available from Friday 25 – Monday 28 June in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire as part of Nottinghamshire’s Big Vax-the-nation Weekend for vaccinations, where all eligible adults can come and grab a first or second jab from 8am -8pm.

Please let your friends and family know that all those eligible for their Covid-19 vaccine will be able to receive a Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine at nine sites across the city and county including:

• Gamston Community Hall
• Forest Recreation Ground
• King’s Meadow Campus
• Richard Herrod Centre
• Newark Showground
• Ashfield Health Village
• Mansfield Wickes site
• King’s Mill Hospital Vaccination Hub
• Queen’s Medical Centre

Those currently eligible include any adult member of the public as well as those who are clinically vulnerable, clinically extremely vulnerable and carers.

All sites will be open from 8am to 8pm from Friday to Monday offering walk-in appointments to anyone eligible for their first or second dose. Second doses will be available for anybody who has had their first jab on or before 30 April.
